1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Homeducate is a homeschool management and GCSE preparation platform that provides:
- Educational planning and timetabling tools
- Study progress tracking
- Assignment management
- Work log and time tracking
- GCSE subject organization (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- Portfolio and report generation
- Multi-user family accounts (parent and student roles)
3. Eligibility
Age Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older to create an account
- Student accounts must be created and supervised by a parent/guardian aged 18+
- By creating an account, you represent that you meet these age requirements
4. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Maintain the security of your password
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
Account Types
Parent/Guardian Account: Full administrative access, can create and manage student accounts, can manage billing and subscription
Student Account: Limited access to features, cannot modify account settings, supervised by parent/guardian account
5. Subscription and Billing
Free Trial
- Duration: 14 days free trial
- Full access to all features during trial
- No credit card required to start trial
- You must subscribe before trial ends to continue using the Service
Subscription Plans
Monthly Plan: £6.99 per month, billed monthly, auto-renewal
Annual Plan: £59.99 per year, saves £23.89 compared to monthly, auto-renewal
Payment Processing
- All payments processed securely through Stripe
- We do not store your full payment card details
- You authorize us to charge your payment method for the subscription fee
Auto-Renewal
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- You will be charged on each renewal date
- You can cancel auto-renewal at any time before the next billing date
6. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- Go to Billing → Manage Subscription
- Click "Cancel Subscription" in the Stripe Billing Portal
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- You will retain access until the end of the paid period
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
- If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription, you will receive a full refund
- Applies to first subscription only (not renewals)

No Refunds for: Renewals (monthly or annual), partial months/years, account termination for Terms violation
Effect of Cancellation
After cancellation:
- Your data will be retained for 30 days (you can export it during this time)
- After 30 days, your account and all data will be permanently deleted
- You can resubscribe within 30 days to restore access
7. Use of Service
Permitted Use
You may use the Service for personal homeschool planning and management, educational record keeping, GCSE preparation and progress tracking, and lawful educational purposes.
Prohibited Use
You may NOT:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or malware
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
- Share your account with others outside your family
- Resell or commercialize the Service without permission
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and all related materials (excluding your content) are owned by Homeducate and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of all educational data you enter (timetables, work logs, notes, etc.).
9. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data.
Data Export
You can export your data at any time:
- Use the portfolio export feature
- Contact us for a full data export
- Data provided in standard formats (PDF, JSON, CSV)
10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
Educational Content Disclaimer
- Homeducate is a planning and organizational tool, not an educational provider
- We do not provide educational instruction or tutoring
- We do not guarantee exam success or specific educational outcomes
Limitation of Liability
Our total liability for any claims related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
11. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe: Payment processing - stripe.com/legal
- Resend: Email service - resend.com/legal/terms
- Supabase: Database hosting - supabase.com/terms
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited activities, or if required by law.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@homeducate.com to attempt informal resolution.
